Interviewer: What social media platforms are you most frequent on?

Interviewee 1: Sadly, all of them, except for Twitter. I don’t really use Twitter that much for some reason. It's not… I like to watch memes or videos and... Twitter is mostly… I mean, I guess that is Twitter. You know, you’ve got to click on it and it opens. I like to kind of just scroll.

Interviewer: It sounds like Instagram and Facebook are your two [crosstalk 00:23]

Interviewee 1: Yeah, all those popular things, Snapchat to communicate, Instagram to scroll and just check up on stuff. Facebook is just to laugh at opinions.

Interviewer: Okay.

Interviewee 1: Yeah.

Interviewer: Do you like products that have a mission statement behind it or represent something?

Interviewee 2: Not necessarily.

Interviewer: Not necessarily.

Interviewee 2: As long as it’s, like… I do like when things are like cruelty-free and more plant based, because I kind of eat that way most of the time, so that’s like a little bit, but I usually just, if I like it, that’s all it takes. Yeah.

Interviewer: What makes you buy a product?

Interviewee 3: Usually, if someone I know has the product or someone I look up to like on social media or something that is in my interest that I can trust is advocating for the product, then I’ll look into it, but usually it’s about reviews and what I want to see with that and also the price, if the price is better than other products, if it’s different. If I’ve seen the product before, then I’m not going to probably get that product. Unless there is something special about it that I’ve never seen before that I can only get with that company as well as price then I’ll get it.

Interviewer: Is there any specific platform you typically use to buy products? What platform are you frequent on? Is it Instagram?

Interviewee 4: Instagram, for sure.

Interviewer: So Instagram?

Interviewee 4: Yeah.

Interviewer: What about Snapchat, Facebook or Twitter?

Interviewee 4: No.

Interviewer: What about your friends, your female friends? Are they mostly on Instagram as well?

Interviewee 4: Yeah, mostly on Instagram.

Interviewer: Why not Snapchat or Facebook or Twitter?

Interviewee 4: I’ve used Facebook my whole life ever since I’ve been able to, and I just kind of got old. I got sick of it and the same with Snapchat. I feel like I just have… I enjoy Instagram more because of my feed and the pictures and videos, whereas Snapchat is kind of just like corny. I don’t really use it for buying things or anything like that. I get influenced a lot on Instagram because of people I follow.

Interviewer: Okay. Do you feel like it gets easier…?
